Purpose and scope
This is a full time position. The employee is responsible for generating sales from new accounts in accordance with company goals. This job description does not list all duties of the job. Responsibilities
- Create Prospect Lists and implement a prospecting system
- Make calls
- Attend Networking Functions
- Build referral sources and strategic alliances
- Build relationships with vendor Account Managers
- Team with Marketing for targeted multi-touch campaigns to prospects
- Acquire and close new business
- Complete Proposals
- Quote new business
- Attend industry functions & tradeshows
- Attend company and vendor Sales Training
- Take Self Development courses
- Complete weekly activity reports
- Pricing decisions within company policy
- Concessions to clients or prospects to maintain client satisfaction and/or retain account
- Hire and Fire customers according to company standards
Preferred qualifications
Begin the day by 8:30am. Review all opportunities in pipeline and progress each opportunity to the next phase in the sales process. Work with inside sales to execute on any orders in progress. Conduct prospecting activities (cold calling, networking, etc.) as needed to reach goals. Go on sales appointments, ask questions and identify valid (qualified) sales opportunities to propose/bid on. Engage Sales Engineering for Technical meetings with prospects/customers. Work with inside sales to get best possible vendor pricing and complete proposals/quotes to customers for review. Follow up on all proposals and quotes until Purchase Order is issued or contract signed. Plan sales activities for next day/week.
Experience
- Possess College Degree or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in a sales or IT environment
- Previous experience with technology, CRM and Microsoft Excel preferred
